Redbud photo
Redbuds (Cercis canadensis) add so much to the summer landscape after their spectacular spring bloom. This variety, ‘Forest Pansy’, has gorgeous purple leaves that create a wonderful contrast to other foliage. They’re easy to find and easy to grow, too.

Assassin bugs are actually beneficials! They don’t harm your plants and they eat other bugs that do- by repeatedly stabbing them and sucking out their juices. Nature- it’s so violent!

Never too many planters!

I’m crazy about all these colors together.

Well, how are your tomatoes?

Well, how are your tomatoes?

This scorching heat is really bringing the tomatoes along nicely here in the DC area. Don’t forget to water, especially if you’re growing in pots!

Awesome Astilbe

Astilbe are such a wonderful late spring flower, and they are amazingly deer-resistant in our DC area! You can find them at most nurseries, blooming now.

A pair of these wall fountains are a highlight of a beautiful patio. There’s always a place for water!
